Any good parkour/freerunners out there?

I am new to parkour. And i know how to roll when i land, but when i do it on cement or the street it hurts my shoulder alot. Is that normal? Will i get used to it? Or am i doing it wrong? Oh and i need to know if i should take gymnastics to get better at parkour? Tips please!!!! thanks for your time!!

I’d say start off trying to learn basic movements like a safety vault. Practice your rolls on grass or mats to learn the correct technique, it shouldn’t ever hurt to roll! Just start jumping and running and vaulting then start to learn the tricks and higher drops. Parkour is about slowly progressing, I’d recommend starting a body weight workout program in addition to your parkour training. Also, check out some websites that have tutorials on how to do certain movements. One tip though, moves are less important than flow. Look up some information, do some research, you cannot learn how to overcome obstacles by being on the internet. So I’d recommend watching some videos, reading some articles, choosing some simple movements, and then get off your computer. Go train outside, learn how to move and don’t be an internet traceur like most of the parkour community.
